House in Tivoli Terrace
Aside from family and friends, my home is the most important thing in my life. You would think it might be common sense but with every passing year, I get an increased sense of just how important my home is to me. I have come to appreciate how well it responds to the seasons. It is warm and cosy during the winter months but cool and relaxing in the summer time. When needed, it excites and inspires. Other times, it soothes and comforts. Our entire family genuinely loves spending time at home. However, it took substantial effort to get it to its current state.
Our house is a typical 1930s semi detached property. It was quite literally falling apart when we bought it. Over a period of years we undertook intensive restorations as well as the construction of a double storey extension. This addition not only increased the living space but also modernised the facade of the building adding to it an elegant and dynamic flow.
Many years later, the property is now a bright and spacious family home. The careful choice of interior elements, built up over a lifetime of collecting, imbues the space with a unique and quirky character. Bespoke furniture fuses a personal element into the very structure of the home in order to fit the needs of our family.
There can be so much potential in a building. It can tell the story of your family. It can be a reflection of your characters, perfectly tailored not only to your practical needs but to your personalities. Between exterior and interior, form and function, fittings and furniture, so many factors come together to make a house a home. I’m always keen to discuss my house with my clients because I am extremely passionate about making sure that your house becomes truly yours.
